Rourkela captain Swastik Samal slammed a swashbuckling 87 off 44 balls to power his team to a 30-run win over Odisha Violet in their super league T20 match of the Kalahandi Cup Senior & U-19 Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Sunshine Ground in Cuttack today.
East Coast Railway, Odisha Yellow, Odisha Green, Odisha Red and Cuttack-A posted wins in five other matches of the day. An unbeaten half-century by captain Sandeep Pattnaik and a three-wicket haul by KG Krishna went in vain as Odisha Blue lost to East Coast Railway by three wickets.
A dashing 43-ball 67 by Soubhagya Rout notwithstanding, Sundargarh went down to Odisha Yellow by seven wickets. Odisha Pink suffered a 20-run defeat against Cuttack-A despite an unbeaten 54 by Subham Satrujit. A three-wicket haul by Prashant Thakkar helped Odisha Red get the better of Jharsuguda by 24 runs.
