Odisha registered back-to-back wins in the Vijay Hazare Trophy National One-Day Cricket Tournament, beating Gujarat by three wickets in their second Elite Group-A league match at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC, Mumbai today. Abhishek Raut and Debabrata Pradhan played important roles in the Odisha win.
Chasing a competitive target of 225 for victory, Odisha were on the back foot, losing three wickets for 36 runs. But an unbeaten 60 (50 balls, 5x4, 1x6) by Abhishek Raut and notable contributions by Govinda Poddar, Biplab Samantaray and Debabrata Pradhan helped them win the match with three balls to spare, losing seven wickets in the process. Raut and Pradhan put on a valuable 69 runs in their seventh wicket partnership.
