National Para Athletics: Odisha bag 2 gold, 1 bronze

Odisha bagged two gold and one bronze medal in the 20th National Para Athletics Championship at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar today. Para sprint queen Jayanti Behera won the first gold in women T-47 100m event, clocking 12.92 seconds.

Rashmi Ranjan Mallick captured the second gold in mens 100m T-44 category with a time of 12.64 seconds. Visually impaired cricket international Pankaj Bhue opened the medal count for Odisha, securing bronze medal in mens T-13 100m event, clocking 12.17 seconds.

A total of 982 para athletes are showcasing their talents across 12 disciplines in 185 categories. The four-day championship was inaugurated by Odisha Sports Minister Tushar Kanti Behera earlier on March 28.
