Odisha rode on a first-innings century by Gaurav Choudhary and a seven-wicket haul in the second innings by Saurabh Kanojia to beat Madhya Pradesh by six wickets on the fourth and last day of their Col C K Nayudu Trophy Elite Group-C match at St Xaviers KCA Ground in Trivandrum, Kerala today.
Put into bat by Odisha captain Rajesh Mohanty, Madhya Pradesh made a sizeable total of 331 with captain Rahul Chandrol (126) and Harsh Gawali (123) hitting a century each. Mohanty was most successful Odisha bowler, bagging four wickets for 47 runs.
In reply, Odisha compiled 400 to take a first-innings lead of 69 runs. This was possible because of fine performance by the top order batters. Opener Gaurav Choudhary scored 105 (150 balls, 10x4, 2x6), while Kartik Biswal (91 off 187 balls, 6x4) missed his ton by nine runs. M Prasanth also hit a half-century (59 off 118 balls, 8x4, 1x6).
