A five-wicket haul in the second innings by pacer Tarani Sa helped Odisha beat Hyderabad by 132 runs on the fourth and last day of their third and last Elite Group-C match of the Col C K Nayudu Trophy Cricket Tournament at St Xaviers KCA Ground in Trivandrum, Kerala today.
This was the second successive win for Odisha, but the achievements proved to be in vain as the State U-25 men team failed to make the cut for the knock-out stage. Odisha finished third in their group with 12 points from three matches.
In their second match, Odisha had beaten Madhya Pradesh by six wickets. But the innings defeat they had suffered against Jharkhand in the first game, cost them dear. Overall, Odisha put up respectable performance at the league stage.
