Asirbad Behera and Ranjib Biswal were re-elected as secretary and president of Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) today. Behera group made a clean sweep by winning all the 14 posts for which election was held after the annual general meeting at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack .
Also a member of the National selection committee, Biswal defeated his opponent Pradeep Chauhan by 52 votes (99-47) to retain the post for another four-year term.
The margin of Behera``s victory was even bigger. He outclashed Ananda Chandra Naik by 95 votes (121-26) to stay secretary for the third term in a row. Out of 148 representatives of affiliated districts, clubs, colleges, schools and institutions, 147 turned up to cast their votes. The representatives included Higher Education Minister Samir Dey, Rajya Sabha Member Pyari Mohan Mohapatra, legislators Ranendra Pratap Swain, Chiranjib Biswal and Police DG Gopal Chandra Nanda.
Besides the president and secretary, eight vice-presidents, three joint secretaries and one treasurer were elected in the process.
Earlier on August 4, Satyabrata Behera (Rising Students Club), Bishnudev Mohanty (Biswabharati Cricket Club) and Nirban Ray (Juvenile Club) were elected uncontested as council members for Clas-II clubs.
