Debutants Odisha FC emerged champions in the 3rd Odisha Womens League (OWL) Football Tournament, which concluded in Bhubaneswar today. Odisha FC won all of their 10 league matches, scoring a total of 46 goals and conceding only three. In their 10th and last match, Odisha FC edged out East Coast Railway 2-1.
Being the OWL champions, Odisha FC qualified to compete in the Indian Womens League 2023. Sports Odisha has already qualified for the IWL 2023 as one of the top four teams of the IWL 2022.
East Coast Railway finished runners-up in OWL-3 with eight wins and two defeats. The champions and runners-up teams received cash prizes of Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. Yumnam Kamala Devi of East Coast Railway emerged as the top scorer of the OWL-3 with a total of 22 goals in 10 games, including 10 goals in one match against OGP Club.
