Hockey Association of Odisha (HAO) settled for the bronze medal by finishing third in the 1st Hockey India Junior Women East Zone Championship which was held at Birsa College Compound in Khunti (Ranchi), Jharkhand from 19 to 27 March 2023. In the 3rd/4th place match today, Odisha trounced Hockey Bihar 10-0.
Hockey Jharkhand emerged champions by defeating Hockey Mizoram in penalty shootout 2-1 after the final match was tied at 2-2 at the end of regulation time. Altogether six teams participated in this championship.
