Hockey Association of Odisha won the bronze medal in the 13th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship, defeating Uttar Pradesh Hockey 4-3 in shoot out in the match for the third and fourth positions at Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela today.
The bronze medal match went to the shoot-out stage as play in the regulation time ended in 1-1 draw. Sonali Ekka was the main architect of the Odisha win, scoring one goal each in regulation time and shoot out. Tanuja Toppo led the 18-member Odisha team with Amisha Ekka as her deputy.
