Balangir District emerged champions, bagging 38 out of 54 medals, including 13 gold in the 3rd Odisha State Fencing Championship, which was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack from 13 to 15 September 2024. Bhubaneswar finished runners-up with 12 medals including four gold. Bhadrak, Sambalpur, Cuttack and Khordha secured one medal each.
Jharana Seth (Balangir) and Smruti Prava Arun (Bhubaneswar) were awarded best women fencers, while the best male fencer award went to Swagat Patel (Balangir). Over 250 fencers from across the State participated in the three-day championship.
