Odisha made a splendid start in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy U-23 Men Cricket Championship, trouncing host Uttarakhand by an innings and 63 runs on the penultimate day of their four-day Group-A match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Dehradun, Uttarakhand today. The thumping win fetched Odisha 15 points, including one bonus point, while Uttarakhand gathered four points.
Allrounder Asutosh Marndi and Saideep Mohapatra played instrumental roles in the Odisha victory. Asutosh bagged five wickets for 42 runs and hit a 75-ball 59 in the first innings, while Saideep scored a century (119 off 166, 4x10, 6x1) in the first innings.
Batters Biswa Bibhab Muduli, Om T Munde and bowlers Ashutosh Chhuria and Badal Biswal also made notable contributions. Odisha will next meet Maharashtra at Vikash Ground in Bargarh, Odisha from October 20 to 23.
