Odisha booked a berth in the Final Round of the 29th Senior Women National Football Championship for Rajmata Jijabai Trophy, trouncing Madhya Pradesh 12-0 in their third and last Group-F match at RTD Stadium in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh today.
Star forward Pyari Xaxa, who is fondly called as Ferrari for her remarkable speed, scored six goals alone, Subhadra Sahoo and Manisha Naik netted a brace each, while Deepa Nayak contributed one. Meenu scored one self goal for Madhya Pradesh.
This was the second win for former champions Odisha, who earlier crushed Ladakh 7-0 and drew with Arunachal Pradesh 0-0. Both Odisha and Arunachal finished with seven points each. But Odisha emerged as the group toppers on goal difference and qualified for the final round.
