A sparkling knock of 88 by former India opener Madhuri Meheta and a valuable allround contribution by Taranna Pradhan powered Odisha to a 194-run win over Arunachal Pradesh in their Group-B match of the Senior Women One-Day Trophy Cricket Tournament at ADSA Railway Cricket Ground in Ahmedabad today.
This was the first win in three matches for Odisha, who earlier lost to Assam by six wickets and Uttarakhand by 50 runs. Opening batter Madhuri, who was the top scorer with 237 runs to her name in the Senior Womens T20 Trophy this season, kept her impressive form going by playing another big knock today against Arunachal.
Madhuri was adjudged as the player of the match for her 97-ball 88, which was studded with 11 boundaries. Taranna, the other star performer of the day for Odisha, scored a 44-ball 37 and bagged four wickets for 10 runs. This was the first match for Taranna, who proved that the team management committed a blunder by ignoring her for the first two matches.
